Would trying football kicking for a year than switching to cross country the next year in college work?

If the football kicking did not go as good as I wanted it to go, I’d switch to cross country the year after that. Because I’m good at running long distances as well as football and soccer kicking, does doing football for a year than switching to cross country the year after that work, if the your football kicking did not go as good as you wanted it to go, example: you were not accurate with field goals 45 yards or below. I’d greatly appreciate some answers.

i wouldnt switch because kicking footballs takes consistent practice.. and doing cross country takes up alot of time (i have done both).
stick with one or the other

if you want to do it go for it but keep in mind that it won’t be easy to switch back… make sure you keep running and stay in shape, also do track in the off-season to stay in shape
