I have a 10 yr old, who still has alot of baby fat and loves to play football. I am a little worried about him getting injured and think strength training may help.

your kid shouldnt lift weights until he is atleast 16…
basically, get him on a boxer training routing…
jump rope, sit ups, push ups, and running…
should hit all the muscles!

John D has got it right. Sixteen is the best age. Before that he should actually work on stamina and of course hit the sleds.
